Day 21 - January 21 Texting and Bowling

txting

some peoples fingers fly
across the tiny keys
not bothering to capitalize
or any grammaring
whenever i am asked
and this has happened twice
to be a texting scribe
i needed advice
"how do you get this to work
this button made before
a letter capital
but it will no more
where is the punctuation
how do you erase
if i ever get this done
how do i send it to its place?"
it is hard indeed
for me to do such texting
leaving out those things
that others find too taxing
its too time consuming
for them to write correctly
but when i do it that way
i do it ineptly

(Just so you know, this poem has nothing to do with Grace, it's just what the idea of texting inspired. I don't know how she texts, so I'm not making fun of her. But don't tell her that.)

I am limiting myself to one picture for each day, but if I did another one, I would do this:

Bad Bowling

When you ask some people if they want to bowl
They will tell you they are terrible.
You aren't sure they're all that bad;
Their bowling skills are not too sad.
They get a strike ocassionally,
And often get about seventy-three.

But when I tell you that I am no good,
Believe me, for you really should.
While others sometimes get a gutter ball,
Mine's not the exception, it's the rule.
I think I got over seventy once;
Almost half of my rolls get points.

Once I dropped it right at the start of the lane.
I tried to pick it up to roll again.
I missed it and it crawled down real slow.
That's how my games usually go.

But my greatest bowling accomplishment
Was the first or second time I went.
I threw the ball a bit too hard.
I should have had a gutter guard.
It did not go down like it should.
It may have been a roll real good.
But I couldn't really see
Four or five lanes down from me.
